Having qualified in 1982 and having practiced in most areas of litigation Stephen now practices purely in employment law and has done for around 15 years.

Stephen has practised for over 30 years in the constantly evolving world of employment law and HR. Having operated largely within a business environment, Stephen is extremely outcome focused, commercial and pragmatic in his approach, having run his own businesses alongside his legal work. He acts for international and national corporations, major regional employers in addition to SMEs and owner-managed businesses across a wide range of sectors. Stephen is an enthusiastic presenter and trainer and has lectured and coached many employment lawyers and HR practitioners. 

He enjoys Tribunal appearances and any opportunity for advocacy. Stephen is considered a robust and experienced Tribunal practitioner but also undertakes non-contentious matters such as the drafting of employment contracts, handbooks and settlement agreements. He has appeared in over a hundred Tribunal and Court actions.

The background of Stephen's experience has consisted of working within crime, matrimonial, personal injury and general civil litigation.
